Online vs In-Person eFile Training: Why We Choose Practical Education

Artificial Intelligence is everywhere right now.

From customer service and content creation to online education and business automation, there seems to be a growing belief that eventually everything will be digital.

The nail industry is evolving too. We have online booking systems, digital marketing, AI generated content and more online education options than ever before.

But while technology is changing the way we work, there is one thing we don't believe should move online: Practical nail technician training. Especially when it comes to learning how to use an eFile.

The nail industry is evolving, but what is the cost?

At LP, we've always embraced innovation.

We develop products that help nail techs work smarter. We continually strive to improve our training. We invest in products that helps technicians deliver better services and build successful businesses.

However, being progressive doesn't mean abandoning standards.

There is a significant difference between learning a theory and demonstrating a practical skill.

You can watch hours of online videos.
You can complete online assessments.
You can read training manuals from cover to cover.

But none of those things allow an educator to physically assess your technique, your pressure control, your hand positioning or how safely you are working on a client.

That's why we believe some aspects of nail technician education still belong in the classroom.

Why proper eFile training is important.

As nail technicians, we're not simply creating beautiful nails. We're responsible for the health and integrity of our clients' natural nails.

When used correctly, an eFile can transform your services. It can improve prep, increase efficiency, create cleaner finishes and help you deliver longer-lasting results.

When used incorrectly, it can cause damage.

-Over-filing.
-Heat spikes.
-Thinning of the natural nail plate.
-Client discomfort.
-Poor retention.

These are all issues that can arise when a technician hasn't received proper practical training.

That's why learning to use an electric nail file isn't just about knowing which drill bit to pick up. It's about understanding technique, safety, nail anatomy and correct application.

These are skills that need to be observed and assessed in real time.

Why our eFile courses will remain in person.

Over the years, we've taught thousands of nail technicians across the UK.

One thing we've learned is that every student works differently.

Some need guidance with pressure.
Some need support with positioning.
Some need help building confidence.
Others simply need reassurance that they're doing things correctly.

These are things we can identify immediately in a classroom environment.

Our courses are designed around practical learning because that's how confidence is built. Students work on live models, receive real time feedback and leave knowing they can safely implement their new skills behind the nail desk.

It's the same reason our training philosophy has always been centred around hands-on learning. When a student leaves an LP eFile course, we want them to feel confident, capable and ready to start using their new skills immediately.

Accreditation should be earned, not downloaded

This is perhaps the most important reason we continue to teach our accredited eFile courses in person.

When we issue an accreditation, we're putting our name behind that technician, we're saying we have personally assessed their work. We're saying we've seen their technique. We're saying we're confident they can use an electric nail file safely and professionally.

That's not a responsibility we take lightly.

For us, accreditation should represent competence, not simply attendance. And the only way we can genuinely assess competence is by seeing students work in person.

Will technology continue to change our industry? Absolutely.

Will AI become part of everyday business? Without a doubt.

Will online learning continue to grow? Of course.

But despite all of these advances, the nail industry remains a people focused profession. Clients don't come to us because a machine can perform a treatment. They come to us because they trust our skill, our knowledge and our expertise. Those skills are developed through practice, feedback and experience. That's something AI can't replace.
